Our approach
Networo (operated by Networo LLC) is privacy-first by design. We do not require your bank credentials, and manual entry is always the default. We collect only what we need to provide the service. We never sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for their own use, no data brokers, and we never hand your data to advertisers.
What we store
- Account info from your sign-in provider (email, name) via Clerk.
- The assets, liabilities, and value snapshots you choose to enter.
- Your preferences (currency, goals, reminders).
- How much you use the service: for each day, the number of minutes you had Networo open and in use, which we use to run and improve it. This stays with us, is not part of product analytics, and is deleted with your account.
- Roughly where you first used Networo from: the city and country your connection appeared to come from the first time you signed in, worked out by our host from the connection. We do not store your IP address. This stays with us and is deleted with your account.
Who we share data with
We never sell your data. To run the Service, we share the minimum necessary with trusted service providers who process it only on our behalf and only to deliver the product:
- Authentication: Clerk (sign-in and account identity).
- Hosting & database: Vercel (hosting) and Neon (the database where your entries are stored).
- Email: Resend (transactional and optional reminder emails).
- Analytics: PostHog (privacy-respecting product analytics to improve the app).
- Payments: Stripe, only if you subscribe to Pro; we never receive your full card number.
- AI Coach (optional): when you ask a question, Anthropic receives your question and a summary of your figures (totals, each account’s category and value, income, expenses and an age range) to generate the answer. It does not receive your name, your exact birth year or the names of your accounts, it is not used to train models, and Networo does not store your questions or the answers.
- Push notifications (mobile app, optional): Expo, Apple and Google deliver notifications you turn on. Notifications never contain an amount of money.
- In-app purchases (mobile app): Apple or Google process the payment if you subscribe through their store.
- Bank connections (optional, off by default): Plaid, only if you choose to enable bank sync. You can use Networo fully without it.
These providers are bound by contract to use your data solely to provide their service to us. Sharing data with a service provider to operate the app is not selling it, we never sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for their own use, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How we protect your data
Your balances, account names, notes, income, expenses, goal and birth year are encrypted with AES-256 by Networo before they are saved, so a copy of the database on its own shows only scrambled text. Bank connection tokens are encrypted separately, all traffic uses HTTPS, and Networo never stores your password. Networo’s servers hold the encryption key so that reminders, the AI Coach, household sharing and bank sync can work. Where your data is stored and for how long
Your data is stored in the United States, in the eastern US regions of our hosting and database providers. We keep your account and its history for as long as you have an account, because your history is the product. When you delete your account, your records are erased immediately and database backups expire within 7 days. If you were subscribed through Networo, the subscription is cancelled before anything is deleted.
If there is ever a breach
If we learn that personal data has been accessed without authorisation, we will notify the people affected without undue delay and within 72 hours of confirming it, describe what happened and what we are doing about it, and notify regulators where the law requires.
The browser extension
The optional Networo browser extension only activates on supported bank websites that you visit. It reads a displayed account balance from the page so you can sync it with one click. It does not read your login credentials, form inputs, or general browsing history, and it never sends data anywhere except to your own Networo account (authorized by a token you can revoke at any time in Settings). The extension stores nothing on its own.
Your control
You can export all of your data as CSV at any time, free (the formatted PDF report is part of Pro), revoke the extension token, see who else can access your account, or permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings at any time.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export (port), or delete your personal data, and to stop processing it. Most of this is self-service in Settings (export and account deletion); for anything else, email support@networo.com and we’ll respond within the time required by applicable law. We will never charge you or deny you service for exercising these rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Minimum age
Networo is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, or under the age of majority where they live if that is higher, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under that age has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies & analytics
We use a small number of first-party cookies needed to run the app, for example to keep you signed in and to remember a referral link. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.
Our product analytics are cookieless. We count which screens get used so we know what to improve, and to do that we store nothing on your device: no analytics cookie, no advertising identifier, and no persistent visitor ID. Your IP address is removed before the event is sent, so we do not derive your location from it. Because nothing is stored on your device and no identifier follows you between visits, we do not ask you to accept a cookie banner for this. If you are signed in, events are linked to your account so that your web and app activity are not counted as two different people. You can turn product analytics off at any time in Settings, on the website and in the mobile app, and we then stop counting you entirely.
